Iresse

Character's name: Iresse.  It means "drifting petals"; "he" was born during a hurricane.  (I'm just going to call Iresse "him" for simplicity, it sounds bad to call it..."it.")

Character's physical description:  first and foremost, he's from an asexual race, and except for a lack of breasts, it can be hard to say he looks more masculine or more feminine.  He's about 5'9"...long blue hair with bangs in the front and gathered into a loose ponytail in the back, gold eyes, little eyebrow "tufts" instead of eyebrows, sort of..elongated eyelashes on upper lids.. a red gem-like oval in his forehead, and sharply pointed ears.  His body is thin and lanky, and his hands and fingers are longer than a human's. He has long, thin claws at the tips of his fingers. He runs about barefoot most of the time, and one can see the large claw on his big toes and the smaller, flat claws on the other toes.  In terms of clothes, he wears whatever's handy, but he prefers loose, flowing fabric.

Character's Powers and Non Powered abilities:  Iresse is a young member of his race, the Leyen, and is still coming into his full power.  He can morph his body to a certain degree, often joining with elements by putting his hands into them and letting his hands transmute into whatever he's touching (for example, putting his hands against a tree and letting them join into the tree).  If he really wants to, he can morph his entire body this way, but that level of power is a bit beyond him and leaves him exhausted.  Even without doing this morphing, he can sense the composition of things and can easily tell if something is wrong with them (a sick tree, polluted water, acidic soil, etc.).  He can also sense the age of things like trees or rocks this way.  His other main power is the control of the planet's elemental forces (earth, wind, water... fire is a reaction and can be controlled by minute manipulation of the air).  He can also, unsurprisingly, communicate to some degree with animals.  Leyen only get stronger as they age, so Iresse has much more power coming to him...

Character's History (and some racial info):  The Leyen are a race of elementals that are born during (and perhaps from?) natural disasters (and then named accordingly).  They consider themselves to be the caretakers of the planet, though modern technology has made their job much more difficult; they can purify and heal things, but in doing so, they absorb a certain amount of the taint, and this eventually kills them.  

The Leyen have a very tight society and rather surprisingly, they all get along, more or less.  If two individuals don't like each other, you'd never be able to tell.  They speak very little out loud, sharing a inter-racial telepathy, and their habit of looking at each other and not speaking rather spooks people.

Despite being an asexual race, the Leyen are quite capable of love.. just not sex in the way humans think of it.  They are more physically demonstrative than one would expect from such a reserved race, and they enjoy appeasing their tactile sense.

As for Iresse himself, as was said before, he's young.  He's basically been taught by his elders to use his powers, and now is being sent out to begin work, doing the job that most of the younger Leyen do.. looking for problems and reporting them.

Character's Personality:  To strangers, he is generally quite standoffish.  He would be called "shy", but some people might consider him stuck up because he doesn't like to talk much.  Like most of the Leyen, he tends towards melancholy (doing a job that will eventually kill you isn't a very cheering thought to live with).  Once he gets to be friends with someone, he can be surprisingly "mothery" for something that could never be a mother.  He is generally kind, but fierce in protecting those close to him.
