The Scholar and the Bodyguard

An out-of-continuity fairytale prompted by these lovely clothes!

Once upon a time, there was a bright young scholar.

He had a very keen mind, of course...

...but he was not particularly strong, physically, so he hired a bodyguard to protect him during his travels.

The faithful guard followed him wherever he went.

Perhaps surprisingly, they became friends, and the guard seldom left the scholar's side.

Gradually, the bodyguard found himself feeling something more than friendship for his charge...

One day, he finally gathered the resolve to tell the scholar of his feelings. The scholar, understandably, was taken by surprise...

...but didn't seem to reject his guard's suit.

Perhaps it was just shock, or perhaps it was something else...

And from then on, they were more than simply protector and charge.
